Gibson ES-347 Semi-Acoustic Guitar, 1982 Made in USA, Gibson case in Sooke, British Columbia for sale

$2,700

Gibson ES-347 Semi-Acoustic Guitar, 1982, Made in USA, Coil Tap Model, with Gibson case. Cash, no trades ....
Used condition. Beautiful guitar, and plays awesome. Serial number indicates it was built in 1982 on the 50th day. Antique Sunburst color. Maple top, rims and back. Ebony fingerboard, rectangular inlays on the finger board. Cream/white binding on neck and body; black pick guard. Polished brass fingerboard nut 1.75 inches. Coil tap switch on lower horn. Gibson Series VII high output humbucking pickups. Gold plated Gibson hardware. Stop bar tail piece with tune-o-matic bridge. The original retail price in 1982 was $1399 according to Gibson. This ES-347 has appreciated in 30+ years.
Condition comments: I installed Schaller strap locks. The original strap locks are included but one has a "Gibson wing" broken off so it won't hold a strap. The back has a patch of finish coating worn off but the wood does not appear to be damaged. This appears to be "rubbing rash" but not by a belt buckle(???). There are two hairline like finish cracks near where the neck meets the body; and I believe this is not structural. The back of the neck has "lots of authentic hand" wear so someone used it as their main guitar for a long time.
The head stock is stamped (on the back) with the serial number, "Made in USA", and "SECOND". Gibson advised me (email) that "The "SECOND" stamp would refer to the guitar being a factory second model. A factory second is a guitar that left the factory with a minor cosmetic blemish (no electrical or structural issues)". I suspect that a factory SECOND stamp is not very common therefore, in the future it might command a greater price for a collector. Hey, who knows?
The case is in used condition with some of the usual nicks and chips.
Never used as a road guitar while I have owned it. Apartment/townhouse use only. The guitar is being sold because it sits in the case. It's time for someone new to enjoy it.
